Safe journey back to london

Tomorrow morning Krystina and her brother George will leave Chaaria to go back to London.
Polish by family, but Eglish by birth, they have been wonderful for our Mission and we will miss them very much.
Krystyna has been working as a volunteer in Cottolengo Mission Hospital in 2 different occasions:
From 1st to 30 September 2009
From 16th July to 22 September 2010.
In the first experience of 2009, she has been working with people with different kinds of mental and physical disabilities. She has cooperated with local staff for the personal hygiene of the inmates, for feeding them, taking them to bed and put them back on their wheelchairs. She has also cooperated with the special school and with all the occupational activities.
In the second, longer experience, Krystina has worked as nurse aid in the hospital, cooperating with our staff for hygiene of the patients, for dressing of bed sores and different types of wounds and ulcers (burns, assaults, infections). Gradually she has been introduced to the task of giving oral treatment to the sick.
Other fields of her efforts have been the theatre, where she has cooperated in different operations as a “theatre assistant”, and the pharmacy where she has helped often as store keeper.
Krystina has always been very hard working and faithful to all the duties assigned to her. She has wonderful communications skills which have been very useful in creating an environment of good team work.
She has a lot of interest in learning, and she is dedicated and skilful in all the aspects of nursing and medical care.
Therefore it is my sincere opinion that she could make a wonderful doctor, and I would encourage her to become one.
George was at his first experience in Chaaria; he has been with us for a month between August and September, and he has been working in the Centre with our mentally disable inmates. He has also helped in the hospital in some of his free time.
As for Krystina, he has always been very active, cooperative and well behaved, and we have appreciated very much his services and the way he has been able to relate with the local staff and with the Italian volunteers.
The language barrier with the Italians has been a very important problem either for Krystina or for George, but their very open mind and their easy-going characters have made the community  and the collaboration still possible and pleasant… and, when the words could not help, even talking with gestures has made it possible to work together.
Hopefully we will meet again.
Thanks a lot for everything.
May God bless you… and safe journey back to London.
