Anna, normally called Ania, according to the Polish way, comes from a town near Warsaw, the Capital City of Polland.
She belongs to the volunteers attached to the Kenyan Province of the Order of the Conventual Franciscan Fathers.
We wish to thank Fr Arek for the great care he takes of our hospital, allowing many of his volunteers to help us here in Chaaria.
It is a good example of inter-congregational cooperation, and it is also an international touch to the volunteering in Cottolengo Centre.
Ania has been working in our hospital as a volunteer nurse from 5th September to 16th October 2010.
She has been allocated mainly to the paediatric and maternity departments where she has wonderfully cooperated with our local nursing staff.
Sure the good knowledge of English has made her presence more significant and important for us.
Mainly he has worked with:
1. Follow up of normal deliveries
2. Episiotomy and episiorrhaphy
3. Care of the antenatal mothers in labour
4. Care of the post-natal mothers and newborns
5. Nursing care, ward round and treatment for the children admitted in paediatrics.
6. Care of surgical wounds, tropical ulcers and burns
She has also been assisting in theatre as a scrub nurse for caesarean sections and for D&C (Dilatation and Curettage).
She has always been a very cooperative and hard-working nurse, and the relationships she has created with patients and staff have been wonderful.
We wish her well and we strongly recommend her as a knowledgeable, hard working professional in all her future endeavors.
God willing, we hope to meet Ania again in future for another experience in Chaaria.
