Thanks a lot, Carolin!

We wish to express our deep feelings of thanksgiving for Carolin, the young dentist and oral surgeon who has been with us for 2 weeks and now has gone to spend some time with relatives in Makuyu.
She has been extremely hard working and she has allowed us to give the final days of holidays to our dentist Mercy, who is now back on duty.
Carolin has done a very good job, not only as a dentist but also as oral surgeon: very remarkable is the removal of a solid formation from the gums.
Thanks a lot, also for the equipments and the drugs she has given us.
We have appreciated the style of volunteering: working hard, never gossiping, never involved in complaints, always grateful of what the community has provided, either as food and accommodation, or as outings in the rare free time.
Thank you very much, Carolin: best wishes for your future life, and see you again… if that is in the plans of God.

VIELEN DANK, CAROLIN!

Wir wollen auf diesem Wege unseren tiefsten Dank fuer Carolin ausdruecken, der jungen Zahnaerztin und Oralchirurgin, die 2 Wochen mit uns verbracht hat und nun Zeit mit ihren Verwandten in Makuyu verbingen wird.
Durch ihre harte Arbeit und ihr Engagement, war es uns moeglich, unserer Zahnaerztin, Mercy, die letzten Tage ihres Urlaubs zu geben. Mercy ist nun wieder zurueck im Einsatz.
Carolin hat sehr gute Arbeit geleistet, und das nicht nur als Zahnaerztin sondern auch als Oralchirurgin: sehr zu beachten war z.B. die Entfernung eines Geschwuers vom Zahnfleisch.
Vielen Dank auch fuer die Ausruestung und die Medikamente, die sie uns zur Verfuegung gestellt hat.
Ihre Art zu arbeiten und ihr Verhalten hat uns sehr gefallen: Hart arbeitend, niemals laesternd, sich niemals beschwerend, immer dankbar fuer das, was die
Gemeinschaft zur verfuegung gestellt hat, sei es fuer das Essen, die Unterbringung, oder fuer die seltenen Ausfluege, die in der wenigen Freizeit moeglich waren.
Nochmals vielen Dank, Carolin, wir wuenschen dir das Beste fuer deine Zukunft, und wir hoffen dich wiederzusehen…wenn Gott es denn so will.

Chaaria è un sogno da realizzare giorno per giorno.

Un luogo in cui vorrei che tutti i poveri e gli ammalati venissero accolti e curati.

Vorrei poter fare di più per questa gente, che non ha nulla e soffre per malattie facilmente curabili, se solo ci fossero i mezzi.

Vorrei smetterla di dire “vai altrove, perché non possiamo curarti”.

Anche perché andare altrove, qui, vuol dire aggiungere altra fatica, altro sudore, altro dolore, per uomini, donne e bambini che hanno già camminato per giorni interi.

E poi, andare dove?

Gli ospedali pubblici hanno poche medicine, quelli privati sono troppo costosi.

Ecco perché penso, ostinatamente, che il nostro ospedale sia un segno di speranza per questa gente. Non ci sarà tutto, ma facciamo il possibile. Anzi, l’impossibile.

Quello che mi muove, che ci muove, è la carità verso l’altro, verso tutti. Nessuno escluso.

Gesù ci ha detto di essere presenti nel più piccolo e nel più diseredato.

Questo è quello che facciamo, ogni giorno.
