Thanks a lot, Poland

Once again Chaaria is blessed by the presence of 2 young Polish Doctors.

They are Arthur and Mateusz; they have reached Chaaria yesterday and they have started their service immediately.
Because they are not yet specialized, we have agreed that they will work in the General Ward, cooperating with our clinical officers Jonah and Anderson.
In the afternoon they will join the clinical officers in the management of the out-patients.
I am so happy of the continuous flow of volunteers from Poland: it is a way Divine Providence has offered us to make the Cottolengo spirituality known and appreciated also in that Country where we do not have any house or hospital.
Once again I must say thank you to Father Arek, of the Conventual Franciscan Friars of Kenya, because he is the one who introduced Chaaria to Mateusz and Arthur.





They will work with us for 2 months and we wish them all the best.
Above all we wish them to find in Chaaria what their heart disired when they planned the experience of volunteering in Africa.
We take this opportunity to greet all the friends and the former volunteers from Poland.
I know many of them still follow us through the blog and facebook.

Chaaria è un sogno da realizzare giorno per giorno.

Un luogo in cui vorrei che tutti i poveri e gli ammalati venissero accolti e curati.

Vorrei poter fare di più per questa gente, che non ha nulla e soffre per malattie facilmente curabili, se solo ci fossero i mezzi.

Vorrei smetterla di dire “vai altrove, perché non possiamo curarti”.

Anche perché andare altrove, qui, vuol dire aggiungere altra fatica, altro sudore, altro dolore, per uomini, donne e bambini che hanno già camminato per giorni interi.

E poi, andare dove?

Gli ospedali pubblici hanno poche medicine, quelli privati sono troppo costosi.

Ecco perché penso, ostinatamente, che il nostro ospedale sia un segno di speranza per questa gente. Non ci sarà tutto, ma facciamo il possibile. Anzi, l’impossibile.

Quello che mi muove, che ci muove, è la carità verso l’altro, verso tutti. Nessuno escluso.

Gesù ci ha detto di essere presenti nel più piccolo e nel più diseredato.

Questo è quello che facciamo, ogni giorno.
