Back to Poland

After 3 months of very committed service to the sick, today Ania and Dominika have gone back to Poland, and I want to thank both of them very much. 
Ania is a student in Medicine at her last year, and we have got the request from the University of Poznan to have her here for internship in gynecology and pediatrics. 
Therefore I have been her tutor and I have signed her University booklet: surely she has worked a lot and she has learned very much. 
Dominika is a nurse and she needed the experience in Africa before the starting of her master course in “high level nursing”. 
Dominika has worked in the medical ward but she has been always available even in pediatrics, in maternity and in theater. 
I believe she has also learned much in Chaaria Our thanksgiving for both of them is not only for the work they have done, but also for the sharing of the moments of prayers together: it is always very nice for us when we can share even our Christian values with the volunteers. And we are sure they have enjoyed Chaaria a lot. 
We wish them all the best for all their future endeavors. 
A special thanksgiving to Father Pawel and to the Association “Redemptoris Missio”

Chaaria è un sogno da realizzare giorno per giorno.

Un luogo in cui vorrei che tutti i poveri e gli ammalati venissero accolti e curati.

Vorrei poter fare di più per questa gente, che non ha nulla e soffre per malattie facilmente curabili, se solo ci fossero i mezzi.

Vorrei smetterla di dire “vai altrove, perché non possiamo curarti”.

Anche perché andare altrove, qui, vuol dire aggiungere altra fatica, altro sudore, altro dolore, per uomini, donne e bambini che hanno già camminato per giorni interi.

E poi, andare dove?

Gli ospedali pubblici hanno poche medicine, quelli privati sono troppo costosi.

Ecco perché penso, ostinatamente, che il nostro ospedale sia un segno di speranza per questa gente. Non ci sarà tutto, ma facciamo il possibile. Anzi, l’impossibile.

Quello che mi muove, che ci muove, è la carità verso l’altro, verso tutti. Nessuno escluso.

Gesù ci ha detto di essere presenti nel più piccolo e nel più diseredato.

Questo è quello che facciamo, ogni giorno.
