Mistakes happen not only in Chaaria

I am very much used to frequent criticisms about our hospital. Most of the times I believe they are gratuitous and unfair; in my opinion they originate from jealousy most of the times.
Today I had an experience which made me smile and think that Jesus was really wise when he said: “whoever is without sin can throw the first stone”, or when he recommended: “do not judge and you will not be judged”.
In fact today I have received a patient who had been treated in a facility normally very keen in criticizing us.
That person was diagnosed to have an incomplete abortion and she was done a D & C (dilatation and curettage) 2 weeks ago.
Today she came to our hospital because she was still in pain and she was bleeding much since then.
The trans-abdominal ultrasound was not very clear and we had to proceed to trans-vaginal ultrasound for better diagnosis: the latter showed a clear case of ectopic pregnancy in the left adnexus with some hemo-peritoneum.

Fortunately the patient was not anemic because it was a case of chronic ectopic pregnancy, and therefore she had not bled much.
We went to theater and we performed a laparatomy with left salpingectomy because the tube was already ruptured. The blood in peritoneum was actually not much and the patient did not even need transfusion.
Now she is recovering well and we believe she will go home soon.
I have not told anything to the patient because I don’t want to criticize any colleague, and, on top of that,it was a mistake anybody could make: she is obese and therefore the ultrasound difficult; pregnancy test was positive; she was bleeding.
I have simply told her that after the D & C a new problem arose. She is therefore satisfied.
But what I wish to say is simply that it is better never to criticize the colleagues out of mere jealousy, because you may end up doing the same mistakes you are so keen to point on them.
As for me I am just very happy that the patient is ok, and I will never back bite the people talking evil of us or undermining our hospital.
The best publicity for Chaaria are the patients who go home healed and treated well.
Our duty is to work well, and never to talk evil of anybody.
Our good work and the fame of it through our clients will defend us always
