Moments of prayer with the brothers

The volunteers are always welcome to pray with us, if they wish:
1) At the moment the morning Mass is in the Parish from Monday to Saturday, unless we inform you of different arrangements in case of a priest visiting our community. The mass starts at 6.50 am. The Masses can be in English, Kiswahili or Kimeru.
2) If you like, from Monday to Saturday we have Morning Prayer in our chapel at 6.30 am (on Sundays morning prayer is personal).
3) In the evenings we have rosary at 7.15 pm, followed by Evening Prayer. Only on Friday this timetable changes because we pray at 6.15 pm in the chapel of the sisters.
4) On Sunday we propose Mass with the patients in the hospital at 9 am, but the volunteers can choose also the Masses of the Parish (at 7 am in English and at 10.30 am in Kimeru). On Sunday evening there is adoration from 6.45 pm un to 8 pm
5) Every 1st Wednesday of the month we have Mass for hospital staff at 8 am in the pharmacy room of the outpatients (where we also have classes on Thursdays).
6) The chapel is always open 24 hours a day for personal prayer for whoever wishes.
The community prayers in our chapel are always in English

Chaaria è un sogno da realizzare giorno per giorno.

Un luogo in cui vorrei che tutti i poveri e gli ammalati venissero accolti e curati.

Vorrei poter fare di più per questa gente, che non ha nulla e soffre per malattie facilmente curabili, se solo ci fossero i mezzi.

Vorrei smetterla di dire “vai altrove, perché non possiamo curarti”.

Anche perché andare altrove, qui, vuol dire aggiungere altra fatica, altro sudore, altro dolore, per uomini, donne e bambini che hanno già camminato per giorni interi.

E poi, andare dove?

Gli ospedali pubblici hanno poche medicine, quelli privati sono troppo costosi.

Ecco perché penso, ostinatamente, che il nostro ospedale sia un segno di speranza per questa gente. Non ci sarà tutto, ma facciamo il possibile. Anzi, l’impossibile.

Quello che mi muove, che ci muove, è la carità verso l’altro, verso tutti. Nessuno escluso.

Gesù ci ha detto di essere presenti nel più piccolo e nel più diseredato.

Questo è quello che facciamo, ogni giorno.
